Sydney Juniors are proud to have two wonderful Patrons of our game. We are most thankful to Phil and Kerry for being so generous with their time and providing such strong role models for our Junior players coming through.
Phil Waugh
Phil began playing rugby at Narrabeen Tigers, continuing at Shore school where he played in the 1st XV for three years. He was selected for Australian Schoolboys in 1996 and 1997 and was the captain in 1997. He was also named in the Australian U19s and U21s teams.
Professionally he joined the Waratahs in 1999, touring with the Wallabies later that year and debuting against England. He played for and ultimately captained the Waratahs over 12 years and was capped 79 times for the Wallabies.
Phil has been a Patron of SJRU for a number of years and has supported us in many ways. His sons also played club rugby and he has been an active sideline supporter of junior rugby.
